Free visual inspection and a written scope of work before any mitigation begins - photos, moisture readings, and drying logs go in your claim file
The scope we write is the scope we bill. Anything new gets shown to you, in writing, before we touch it.
Meet the Manhattan Team Behind DryMark Restoration Manhattan
We’re the crew that shows up when a burst pipe has turned your Tribeca loft into a wading pool, or when a dryer fire in Washington Heights has left your building smelling like a campfire nobody wanted. Every technician on our Manhattan roster is background-checked, licensed, insured, and trained to the same standard we established when Alicia Brennan founded this company in 2011. What unites us isn’t a handbook - it’s the habit of documenting everything, quoting every job in writing before we start, and standing behind the work for a full year. We’ve restored more than 12,000 homes since then. These are the people who handle yours.
Our People
Alicia Brennan, Owner
I started DryMark in 2011 after spending years as a claims adjuster watching homeowners lose tens of thousands on restoration work that couldn’t be documented. The gap was simple: crews would tear things out, dry what they felt like drying, and hand the customer an invoice that made adjusters wince. I built this company around the opposite approach. Every job gets a written scope and price before anyone touches a wall, a photo record on every visit, and a drying log that satisfies IICRC, RIA, and IFA standards so your adjuster pays the claim without a fight. I still review the documentation on complex jobs myself, usually with coffee that’s gone cold because I got distracted by a psychrometric chart that didn’t look right. Manhattan buildings are unforgiving - pre-war plaster, co-op boards, zero elevator access at 2 a.m. - and I hire people who treat that complexity as normal, not an excuse.
Marcus T., Lead Water Damage Technician
Marcus has been with us since 2017 and carries IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certifications. He’s the one we send when a boiler rupture in a Midtown high-rise has flooded six floors and the super is already on his third cigarette. Marcus reads moisture content like most people read weather - he once caught a 19 percent reading behind a seemingly dry baseboard in a Chelsea brownstone that would’ve turned to full-blown mold in three weeks. Off the job, he restores vintage motorcycles in a garage in Queens that he admits is slightly too small for the hobby. His drying setups are meticulous: Dri-Eaz and Phoenix dehumidifiers placed for optimal vapor pressure differential, Injectidry systems threaded through wall cavities when standard air movement won’t reach the cavity. He documents every reading, every day, until the numbers prove the structure is dry.
Senior Installer
Elena joined us in 2019 after running reconstruction crews for a Brooklyn general contractor who specialized in fire-damaged row houses. She holds IICRC Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) certification and has rebuilt more kitchens and bathrooms after disasters than she can count - though she’ll tell you the exact square footage of the worst one (a 340-square-foot gut in the East Village where the fire started in a turkey fryer on Thanksgiving). Elena manages our reconstruction division, which means she scopes rebuilds with the same written-price discipline we apply to emergency mitigation. She has a running feud with Manhattan co-op alteration agreements, which she has memorized for fifteen buildings, and she keeps a folder of approved contractor affidavits that has saved our customers weeks of board approval delays. She runs half-marathons badly, by her own description, but consistently.
David R., Service Coordinator
David is the live voice that answers when you call (516) 687-5786 at 3 a.m. because water is pouring through your ceiling and you don’t know if you should call a plumber first. He’s been with DryMark since 2014 and has dispatched crews to every neighborhood in Manhattan, from Inwood to the Battery. He knows which buildings have freight elevators that lock at midnight, which co-ops require pre-approved vendor certificates, and which blocks in the Financial District have the worst street access for our equipment vans. David coordinates directly with insurance adjusters, sending photo documentation and drying logs before they ask for them, which is why our invoices get paid faster than industry average. He keeps a map on his desk with push pins for every job we’ve done since he started, and he’s running out of space on the island. He also makes pour-over coffee that the rest of the team pretends is too fussy to be good, then drinks anyway.
Jasmine K., Apprentice Technician
Jasmine came to us in 2023 through a workforce development program focused on building trades, and she’s completing her IICRC WRT certification while working full-time on our water and sewage cleanup crews. She specializes in containment setup and air-scrubber deployment, particularly in tight Manhattan apartments where a single negative-air machine has to serve a 600-square-foot space without disturbing the neighbor’s vintage wallpaper. Her first solo containment was a Category 3 sewage backup in a Hell’s Kitchen studio where the stack pipe failed on a Sunday morning; she built a six-mil polyethylene enclosure, established HEPA filtration, and documented the entire sequence with the photo record that landed in the customer’s claim file by Tuesday. Jasmine is studying for her ASD certification next and has a habit of sketching floor plans on napkins when people describe their layouts. She lives in Harlem and takes the A train to most jobs, which means she’s usually early and slightly out of breath.
One Standard, Every Job

DryMark Restoration Manhattan operates under The Haven Standard, the same framework that governs every independently owned and operated location in our network. Haven Standard, Clause 1: a written price before any work starts, every time, with no exceptions. Haven Standard, Clause 2: a documented photo record on every visit, included as standard, never sold as an upgrade. Haven Standard, Clause 3: the 365-Day Done Right Promise, a signed guarantee that if it’s not done right, we make it right. These aren’t marketing lines - they’re clauses with addresses, and every technician on this page can explain which applies to your job.
Our equipment comes from Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, and Injectidry, and our daily moisture logs are formatted to IICRC, RIA, and IFA documentation standards because that’s what turns restoration invoices into payable insurance claims. Alicia Brennan established this protocol in 2011 because she had seen too many homeowners eat costs that should’ve been covered. The Manhattan crew you just met carries it forward - one measured fact at a time, no filler, no borrowed urgency. If you need a Free Second Opinion on any competitor’s written estimate, we’ll review it at no charge. If you need us now, a live person answers at (516) 687-5786, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
